Pura Vita
Pura Vita describes itself as the first 100% plant-based Italian restaurant and wine bar in the United States, serving chef Tara Punzone's southern Italian family recipes in vegan form. Because the kitchen is fully plant-based, milk and egg are excluded throughout, while tree nuts do heavy lifting in cashew ricotta, almond pesto and macadamia parmigiano. The menu is unusually direct about gluten: dishes are labelled gluten free, and dishes that cannot be adapted carry a printed note saying so. It is a strong date-night candidate in West Hollywood, with brunch at weekends.

Questions diners ask about this place
Does Pura Vita publish an allergen menu?
Yes. Pura Vita publishes an allergen menu that marks dishes item by item, linked from this page. We last checked it on 2026-10-28. A published menu documents ingredients as the restaurant states them — it is not a guarantee, and menus change, so confirm when you order.
Which allergens does Pura Vita document?
Pura Vita's own published material documents: Gluten, Milk, Egg, Tree nut. The allergens we track that it does not document are: Peanut, Fish, Shellfish, Soy, Wheat, Sesame. Undocumented means we found no published information — not that the allergen is absent.
Does Pura Vita document a dedicated fryer or prep area?
Not in the published material we checked on 2026-10-28. The protocol table on this page shows exactly what is and is not documented, and the visit-prep card lists the questions to ask instead.
How current is the information on this page?
Every fact here comes from Pura Vita website and was last checked on 2026-10-28. Kitchens change staff, suppliers and menus without notice — always tell the restaurant about your allergy and confirm current practice before ordering.
